Adjusting party size dropdowns for your restaurant

How to Set Up Party Size Options for Your Restaurant

Your booking system lets you choose how customers enter their party size. As a restaurant, you can either:

✅ Use one dropdown for the total number of guests
OR
✅ Use two dropdowns – one for adults and one for children (optional)

You can also rename the labels to suit your venue – for example: Guests, Diners, Adults, Kids, Over 12s, etc.

Where to Edit Party Size Settings

  1. Go to Manage Venue

  2. Click Manage Tables

  3. Select Booking Options

You’ll see two default booking options:

  • Adults

  • Children

Each option has a Manage button next to it.

Option 1: One Party Size Dropdown (Most Popular for Restaurants)

If you want a simple setup where customers only select the total number of people:

  1. Click Manage next to Adults

  2. In the Custom Title box, rename it to something restaurant-friendly like:

    • Size of Party

    • Number of Guests

    • Total Diners

  3. Click Save

✅ Customers will now only see one dropdown during booking.

You can ignore the Description box – it’s only used for optional add-on questions like “Do you require disabled access?” or “Do you need a highchair?”

Option 2: Two Dropdowns (Adults + Children)

If your restaurant needs to know how many children are in the booking (for space planning, highchairs or kids’ menus):

  1. Click Manage next to Adults if you want to rename it (optional)

  2. Click Manage next to Children

  3. Make sure Venue Only is unticked
    – if this stays ticked, the Children option will not show to customers

  4. Rename if needed, e.g.:

    • Adults → Adults (13+)

    • Children → Children (Under 12)

  5. Click Save

✅ Customers will now select both adults and children when booking.
