How to apply for a Stripe account

• Go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/register and apply for an account
• Follow their instructions
• Once the account is open and activated (it is very important you activate the account otherwise it won’t work) you need to follow the instructions below:
  • Log into Stripe
  • Click Developers at the bottom left
  • Then click API Keys
  • Copy the PUBLISHABLE KEY first and paste somewhere safe
  • Then click REVEAL SECRET KEY
  • A pop up will ask you if you want to reveal the secret key, click REVEAL
  • Copy the secret and paste somewhere safe
  • Click DONE
  • Email the live and secret keys to help@teamtogo.co.uk

Please note: If you already have a Stripe account, you will need to generate a new secret key as you cannot view old keys.

You will also need to make sure that you turn off link pay, apple pay and google pay as these are not compatible with the system and may prevent vouchers being sent to your customers/deposits being taken successfully. Please follow these guides from Stripe on how to turn these off.

If you have multiple venues and you want to use the same Stripe account, please follow the steps below:

In the top left corner you will see your business name and a little down arrow for a drop down menu. Press this and select: +New Account

Select New Account and call it something else such as ‘Venue Name’, then send us the API keys for this new account.

This has the advantage of you being able to see the transactions for each venue in separate Stripe accounts.
